A young man, a student in one of the universities, was one day taking a walk with a professor, who was commonly called the students' friend for his kindness to those who waited on his instructions.

As they went along, they saw lying in the path a pair of old shoes, which were supposed to belong to a poor man who was working in a field close by, and who had nearly finished his day's work . . .

Student turned to the professor, saying: "Let us play the man a trick:

We will hide his shoes, and hide ourselves behind those bushes, and wait to see his perplexity when he cannot find them ..."

"My young friend," answered the professor, "We should never amuse ourselves at the expense of the poor . . . But you are rich, and may give yourself a much greater pleasure by means of this poor man.

Put a coin in each shoe, and then we will hide ourselves and watch how this affects him." Visit: The student did so and they both placed themselves behind the bushes close by. The poor man soon finished his work, and came across the field to the path where he had left his coat and shoes . . .

While putting on his coat he slipped his foot into one of his shoes, but feeling something hard, he stooped down to feel what it was, and found the coin. Astonishment and wonder were seen upon his countenance.

He gazed upon the coin, turned it around and looked at it again and again.

He then looked around him on all sides, but no person was to be seen. He now put the money into his pocket, and proceeded to put on the other shoe; but his surprise was doubled on finding the other coin . . .

His feelings overcame him . . . He fell upon his knees, looked up to heaven and uttered aloud a fervent thanksgiving in which he spoke of his wife, sick and helpless, and his children without bread, whom this timely bounty, from some unknown hand, would save from perishing . . .

The student stood there deeply affected, and his eyes filled with tears.

"Now," said the professor, are you not much better pleased than if you had played your intended trick?"

The youth replied, "You have taught me a lesson which I will never forget. .. I feel now the truth of these words, which I never understood before: "It's more blessed to give than to receive."

She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room.

She said: 'How is my little boy?

Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?'

The surgeon said, 'I'm sorry.

We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it.

Sally said, 'Why do little children get cancer?

Doesn't God care any more?

Where were you, God, when my son needed you?'

The surgeon asked, Would you like some time alone with your son?

One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university.

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good bye to son.

She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.

'Would you like a lock of his hair?' the nurse asked. Sally nodded yes.

The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.

The mother said, 'It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study.

He said it might help somebody else.

'I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die.

Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.

' She went on, 'My Jimmy had a heart of gold.

Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could.

'Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time,

after spending most of the last six months there.

She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car.

The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house.

She carried Jimmy's belongings,

and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room.

She started placing the model cars and other personal things back

in his room exactly where he had always kept them.

She lay down across his bed and, hugging his pillow,

cried herself to sleep.It was around midnight when Sally awoke.

Lying beside her on the bed was a folded letter.

The letter said:'Dear Mom,I know you're going to miss me;

but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just

'cause I'm not around to say 'I Love You'.

I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day.

Someday we will see each other again.

Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely,

that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with.

But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.

Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place.

Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything.

The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly.

And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures.

Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD!

And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him,

like I was somebody important.

That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter,

to tell you good bye and everything.

But I already knew that wasn't allowed.

Well, you know what Mom?

God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to

write you this letter I think Gabriel is the name of the angel

who is going to drop this letter off to you.

God said for me to give you the answer to

one of the questions you asked Him where was

He when I needed him?'

'God said He was in the same place with me,

as when His son Jesus was on the cross.

He was right there, as He always is with all

His children.Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what

I've written except you.

To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper.

I have to give God His pen back now

He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life.

Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper.

I'm sure the food will be great.Oh, I almost forgot to tell you.

I don't hurt anymore the cancer is all gone..

I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and

God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either.

That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me.

The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?

Many days has passed.

time just flew by and it so quick.

still able to remember that the agony i was going through

begining of this year,

all the way till mid Nov.

although it has all gone by,

but i still a sense a very unsecured feeling,

i haven found the right state of mine i should have.

sometimes, i just feel that all

my expressions are so external,

searching deep inside me,

it's empty.... my senses tell me.

FRIDAY

had a time of fellowship at my house.

did not do much the whole day,

was just buzy preparing for the dinner at night,

mum made 40 sushi rolls,

pork popcorn, spaghetti meatball and

vietnamese spring rolls!

SATURDAY

was totally exhausted,

stayed at home till abt after dinner time

and went to Raffles city to get my jeans.

took the mrt down and then one more stop to Bugis,

sim lim tower to get the camera battery.

came home after that.

Sunday

church in the morning.

went to mercedes showroom.

dad's friend bought a C- Class uh!

meet my long time no see friend!

she has grown so much!

haven seen here for a real long time,

IT'S ANOTHER MOVIE!

so we went down to town today!
Louis, Zhi Xiang, Valerie, Gregory (my brother)
catched a movie: THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL.

Rating: 4/5 stars. it's worth watching!

we were suppose to meet at abt 12 so as to have lunch together.
after which, apparently Louis had his lunch at home,
there was no news of Zhi Xiang
and i was waiting "patiently" at home.
In the end, we meet up only at 2.
see the hour difference?

Well, one of us was at fault.
can't wake up,
so didn't shower,
causing it to rain when we were hanging around,
making us wait at the bus stop for the rain to get a little less heavy.

went to eat dinner at plaza sing.
not too bad uh the food!
especially the chily. YUM YUM!

we walked down orchard road>summerset>dhoby ghaut
took photos along the way.

too free nothing better to do, thinking it was a heat pack

really gained alot of leadership experiences.

the instructors were very experiencal as well.
the best part of the camp was all the RAH-RAH we had!

really enjoyed myself through this camp.

it was a great success i will say to today's investiture.

every thing ran pretty smoothly.

thanks to all the hard work practising at rehearsal's

and advice given from one another.

this has made today an eventful day.

We had our first argument last night,

the tomato family went on a walk,

i cut my hair.AGAIN.
many of you guys think that i always go and have a hair cut!

well, my hair is just too much and it feels very uncomfortable.

well, apparently, this happened during our physics lesson
when we went to the lab.
the door wasn't lock and there goes all the things.
asked my mum to cut the line of the phone,
but,Mr Kumar, told my mum to call the police!
so hence, the police ended up at our school.

the 7 of us,
went to the neighbouring police post.
to give our statements,
Eugene's face was like 1/2 dead.
the rest did not have much joyful features ,

but i guess it did not impact me much.

class was pretty interesting though,
went to sch at abt 7.45.
eugene and yuan xiang was having their breakfast.
and as we were chatting aimlessly,
someone mentioned abt the Vietnam trip.
about what each group is suppose to do,
who are going to do what and
even whose in whose group!

then, i came up with pretty great to handle someone.

the idea is to,
find out all you can from the right source,

how nice if i can just be like a bee to collect the SWEET nectar

the plants need me to pollinate them too.
sometimes when i want to find a flower,
it's just so difficult to hunt for.

indescribable.

i guess things will have to remain the same,

Lesson 1:
A man is getting into the shower
just as his wife is finishing up her shower,
when the doorbell rings.
The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel
and runs downstairs.

A sales rep,
an administration clerk,
and the manager are walking to lunch

'I want to be in the Bahamas ,
driving a speedboat,
without a care in the world.' Puff! She's gone.

an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.

Moral of the story:

Lesson 4:

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting,
doing nothing.
A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him,
'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?'
The eagle answered: '
Sure, why not.'
So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested.
All of a sudden,
a fox appeared,
jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:
To be sitting and doing nothing,
you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson 5
A turkey was chatting with a bull.
'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree'
sighed the turkey,
'but I haven't got the energy.'
'Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?'
replied the bull.
They're packed with nutrients.'
The turkey pecked at a lump of dung,
and found it actually gave him enough strength to
reach the lowest branch of the tree.
The next day,
after eating some more dung,
he reached the second branch.
Finally after a fourth night,
the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.
He was promptly spotted by a farmer,
who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story:
Bull Shit might get you to the top,
but it won't keep you there.

Lesson 6
A little bird was flying south for the winter.
It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there,
a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung,
he began to realize how warm he was.
The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy,
and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound,
the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung,
and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

Pau and Noodles
Char Siew Pao and Mee Kia got involved in an argument.

Char Siew Pao got very angry and shouted at Mee Kia,

“I’m going to find my gang to hantam you!”

So Char Siew Pao went to round up Leng Yong Pau and Tau Sar Pow.
Just then, Maggi Mee walked around the corner.

Immediately, the Paos started to beat him up.

As Char Siew Pao was punching Maggi Mee, he shouted,

“Don’t think just because you perm your hair,

we can’t recognize you, ok!”

So Maggi Mee wanted to revenge for he was really innocent.

He gathered his fellow mee brothers and they challenge Char Siew Pao to a fight.

Since Char Siew Pao was severly out numbered…

he was whacked till very very jialat with his infills coming out…

begging to the Mee family to stop! Maggi Mee says:”

Don’t pretend lah..

You think you pretend to vomit blood, we will stop meh??”

Char Siew Pao who was then badly beaten went back to tell all the paus family;
kaya pau, tau SA pau, curry pau, and etc.

So together?.. all paus went to find maggi mee for revenge.
On the way… they met Spaghetti?…

so all pau ran to Spaghetti and BEAT the hell up on Spaghetti

that Spaghetti can’t say a word,Spaghetti then scream…

Then the siew pau say??..

schools starting so tmr.
this means it's all back to usual routine lifestyle
each and everyone has!

my O level's in 3 months,
prelims in 2 i guess.
after all these times,
it will be unlocking the door to freedom.
doing all the things i want,
taking up the courses i desire,
working to to have all the extra cash $$
and even, around the world!

really got so much things i would like to do.
however, it will have to wait and that's all i could do ya.

this holiday been pretty fun though,
i admit i did slack and even played.
not as if i stayed at home the whole time.
it's just that i did spend little more time revising and stuff.
after all, it's the crucial year right.

went cycling at East Coast Park again.
haha. as you guy know,
i was there on Monday.
my butt sitt hurts while cycling.
the day just went by like that.

did 4 things today:
1. Add math lesson with Mr Raj
(but unfortunatly, kana chase out of class:/)
2.cut hair at Pro trim
3. cycle at ECP
4. makan at a bar, western food!

just came back from sch.
had a half day, 1 night camp. lols.
just went to help out in the councillors camp.
honestly, i think i didn't do much.
the other mantors did more i suppose.

went running with mummy.

Had Add math lessons with Mr Raj in the morning.

met Isaac T and Ben to go down to East Coast Park.

councillors had camp there and they were building sand castles well,

some of their castles were pretty interesting

(obviously not the one above!haha)

anyway, rent bicycles and

were there at about 11 plus i guess.

saw them building sand castles and went for lunch after that.

CARL'S JUNIOR!

we were being tyipical SINGAPOREANS.

trying to COP all the free flow of drinks we could have there.

refilled like unteen times.

while they were having the amazing race,

2 teachers were sitting there,

enjoying the nice soft drinks from the dispenser.

they even decided to take:

the salsa, menu(to be postcards), the marble table,

the chair they were sitting on,

light bulbs and even pebbles from the small water disply by the side.

had so much fun, crap lots as well...

soon, we left ECP and headed back to school.

i left soon after. will be back tmr!

IT FRIDAY THE 13 THIRTEEN!

haha. i didn't though, until i heard the radio.
i usually will take note about these stuff..
nothing extraordinary happen today though.
studied and did my stuff in the morning,
bought a new handbag at the market.
IT'S GOOD STUFF OKAY!
(although it's from this kinda place.)
was at beach road to get some stuff as well!
customizing my guitar stripe and luggage tag!
went for dinner at spottish wood.
it was yummy! lols.
came home after that.

schools about to start.
three weeks has gone by and i did pretty lot.
i guess i did use my holiday well!

the only thing i did not do was to hang out with friends.
hopefully this coming week i could do so.
with camp on mon and tues.
fully utilise this time of fun!

went shopping once more.

this was the overview of my weekend.

aunt came back for 11 days and

went for shopping, makan and so activities too!

without fail, everyday before 12 midnight we won't be back!

bought pretty much of things.

had lots to tell her and gossip about.

she's the best person to consult!

so happen,

Sunday was my parents wedding anniversary.

celebrated at this guild house.

having FINE dining!

food was extremely yummy!

honestly, i think i didn't! lols.

well, tuition today.

it's another dreading 5 hours!

i've got a taste of the GSS just yesturday.

went out with parents to orchard.

i bought stuff luh.

nike bag, Gap blouse!

whoo.. it's a dream come true.

and, and, and, my brother bought a Levis jeans.

the issue is that his only 12!

got my 1st pair of Levis only at 15!

although it's just 3 years but it's 1095 days!

not convinced man!

my dad spoils him!

but after all, my Gap blouse isn't cheap either!

the new month has started and well,

schools OUT but homework's IN!

got tons of worksheets, books and notes.

got to get all of them done.

well, the compre open ended was pretty easy to understand by the answer a few questions takes some thinking... as for the MCQ's, it's pretty abstract, all you need to do is to infer. not much is found in the passage though.

BUT, all wells, it's over!
it would be a blessing if i'm able to get at least a B3! not too worry, i guess my oral and listneing would help a little!

ytd. it was pretty tiring though.

i guess this is what is going though my mind.
i'm super caught up by the pressure my parents give me.
i just can seem to please them in whatever i do.
old friends seem to be too busy and not so close anymore.
however, i shall not deny that i have good friends too.
the ones that stand by your side each and everytime you not in high spirits.
there are also people that care for me although they dun really know me.
thus, it's convincing and really encouraging.
BUT, what i need is much more from the people around me.
apparently, this is not what i'm getting.
i'm i expecting too much?
i really have no more motivation to PRESS ON.
however, coming to think of it,
i've come so far and struggled so much.
is it worth it?
i can't seem to make up my mind.
is just being innocent what i can do now,
just following whatever i'm told to do so?
